DESIGN INSPIRATION
What inspires you to create or try something different? My mother had subscriptions to quite a few magazines growing up. Ebony, Jet, Good House Keeping, Essence, Architectural Design and Cook Books. I would sit for hours reading and admiring fashions and interior design. I did not realize or understand the importance of what I was conceptualizing in my head. I also did not think this knowledge would develop into a passion and the career I have now.
When designing its important to design with different textures, color combinations and create a cohesive look. Every detail matters. The color of the food, how its plated, the stemware, color of the beverage, flatware, china, napkin (napkin fold), seating, linens or table. Let’s not forget the table stationery that gives you all the feels and imformation. Providing an experience for the person that enters the space or being seated at a table is important to me. I enjoy studying the art of designing tables. It gives me all the feels.
When styling the models featured in the images I wanted something different or rare. When viewing gowns I wanted something rare, sexy yet dainty and make her feel mysterious and beautiful. Once I seen the black lace gown at White Dress Boutique, I knew it was the dress. The design of the space compliments her gown feminitity and elegance of her and them.
Creating a potrait with every detail of the design and attire is important.
Enjoy your Sunday!
